Attributed to Giovanni Battista PITTONI (1687 - 1767) The Sacrifice of Isaac Rectangular oval canvas H. 75 cm - L. 92 cm H. 92 cm - W. 114 cm (frame) ET Old restorations, foxed The subject has been treated at least twice by Pittoni: The Sacrifice of Isaac in Louisville (Kentucky) at the J.B. Speed Art Museum (Franca Zava Boccazzi, Pittoni l'Opera completa 1979, cat. 99) and a repeat of the same composition, Milan private collection (cat. 112), but the finest version of the subject seems to be the one conserved in Venice in the church of S.
