Box Silver, decorated in shibuichi, gold and shakudo with a sparrow flying above a cherry blossom tree. The incised decoration continues on the sides of the box. The interior in nashiji lacquer. A "Toshihiro koku" (Made by Toshihiro) signature on the lower right of the lid. The underside of the box with the "Jungin" (Pure silver) hallmarks and the Hattori Company sparrow in flight. Dim. 5.3 x 13.5 x 10 cm NOTE: K. Hattori & Co was founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori. The firm produced and marketed luxury goods, notably goldsmiths' and silversmiths' pieces for export, as well as timepieces. In 1924, Hattori launched the Seiko brand, which went on to become one of the world's leading watch manufacturers.
