The archive includes: - Typescript copies of Leonid Veliyashev's letters to his son Dimitri Veliyashev in France, then in Abyssinia. Copies made in the 1950s by D.Veliyashev, then addressed to Andrei Balashov. The letters were written between 1921 and 1939 (with interruptions), 114 pp. in-4, A.B.E. (traces of rust). Detailed letters about General L. Veliyashev's life in Lutsk (Poland) "I lived in Lutsk from 1901 to 1910, commanding a regiment, then a brigade. First I lived in a government apartment, now that house is destroyed / by peasant democrats/, my other apartment was fine, now occupied by a Polish club..." Leonid Veliashev (1856-1939) - cavalry general, participated in the Russo-Turkish War in the ranks of the Akhtyrsky regiment, commander of the 3rd field gendarmerie squadron in Kiev, then of the hussar regiment of the Iziumski regiment. Temporarily retired in 1914, he returned to service when Russia entered the First World War. After the revolution, he went into exile in Poland. Arrested by the Reds in 1939, he died a few days after his arrest.
