Good condition. Measurements: 24 x 13 x 5 cm. Crowned Buddha with inlaid eyes, belonging to the Ayutthaya kingdom, performing with both hands the mudra of meditation. He poses one hand on the other with palms up and fingers extended, resting on crossed legs in the posture of the lotus flower (symbol of purity). The gesture is characteristic of two periods of meditation during Siddhartha's life: during his period of extreme fasting and under the bodhi tree before his Awakening. Otherwise, it follows the traditional iconography in all its aspects: the symmetry of his physiognomic features express serenity, the closed eyelids indicate meditation, the elongated earlobes symbolize nobility and wisdom. The carefully carved headdress is inspired by the shape of a pagoda.
