Crisse/Jungla. Original drawing created as a tribute to the heroine for a portfolio published in 2014. India ink and graphite, signed and dated. Beautifully executed. TBE+. A4 format Didier Chrispeels alias Crisse began his career drawing on canvas in Lyon at the age of eighteen. This was followed by a career in comics, with Ocean's King for Spirou magazine in 1979 and Nahomi, une princesse japonaise for Tintin in 1980. At the end of the '80s, he produced the Russian Revolution dyptic "Shadows of the Past", where his distinctive style was to develop further. He moved to France and launched into heroic fantasy, creating the "Épée de Cristal" series in collaboration with Jacky Goupil. The series was a great success and became a benchmark for the genre. He was then recruited by Éditions Soleil, for whom he drew several successful series, including "Kookaburra" and "Atalante".
