Covered bowl with handles in 18k (750) yellow gold. China, early 20th century The lid surmounted by a Fô dog, the body decorated with two escutcheons, one engraved in Sinic script, the other engraved "Offered by the King-Yong Free School to their patron Monsieur G. Xavier Deputy Chief of the Changhai Guard on October 20, 1927". The handles are scrolled. It stands on a fine pedestal. Owl hallmark. Height Height : 22 cm Weight : 303.27 g. One part of the chien de Fô detached. Cut and scratched under the base. Provenance: Officer stationed in Shanghai in the 1920s. Then private collection in Charente-Maritime, by descent. Note: Cup tested by coupellation by the Service commun des laboratoires DGCCRF - DGDDI. Results: 879.5 thousandths gold. The test report and the tested fragments will be given to the purchaser.
