American Starr revolver. Caliber 33, six-shot black powder. Single action with tilting barrel. Cases marked "STARR ARMS Co NEW YORK" and "STARR PATENT JAN 15 1863". Wooden grips with U.S. Army acceptance stamp. Numbered 41084 and barrel 41068. USA, Second half of the 19th century Total length : 32 cm . Good mechanics. Class D weapon. 25,000 Starr revolvers were produced during the American Civil War. Some were sold to the French army for national defense during the 1870 war. For the model 1863 SA in 44 caliber, 4500 units were sold to the artillery directorate in Lyon, and 2226 "Starr revolvers" of unspecified models were sold on April 8, 1871 in Brest.
