Dark blue jansenist morocco, ribbed spine, burgundy morocco lining, decorated with an eggplant morocco listel and three gilded fillets framing it, as well as gilded mosaic arms in the center, burgundy moiré silk endpapers, double endpapers, gilded edges on witnesses, cover and spine preserved, case (P. Affolter - J. Augoyat suc.). Very fine edition printed at only 125 copies on Arches vellum, illustrated with 49 original etchings, including four full-page ones, by Paul-Adrien BOUROUX, Auguste BROUET, Edgar CHAHINE, Henry CHEFFER, André DAUCHEZ, Amédée FÉAU, Georges GOBÔ, Pierre GUSMAN, Charles HALLO, Georges JEANNIOT, Charles JOUAS, Georges LE MEILLEUR, Gustave PIERRE, Tigrane POLAT, Eugène VÉDER and Louis WILLAUME. A copy specially printed for the Duke of Massa. The binding was produced for him by J. Augoyat, Affolter's successor, and bears his gilded mosaic arms in the center of the linings. A perfectly preserved copy.
