Until 1929 studied art history, philosophy and education in Leipzig. 1927-32 Studies at the Academy for Graphic Arts and Book Trade in Leipzig, master student of Willi Geiger. 1938 Moves to Dresden-Loschwitz. 1940-42 Teaching at a private painting and drawing school. 1946-49 Professor at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig. In addition to portraits and cityscapes, still lifes are among Hassebrauk's favorite motifs.
