Francis/Original humorous drawing that hasn't aged a day. Beautifully executed. Published in the album "Drôle de crise" in 1982. India ink signed. TBE+. A4 format Francis Bertrand (1937-1994) published his first comic strip, Many Vail, in 1957 in La Cité. He went on to produce Junior et Toutsy, based on a script by Greg, in La Dernière Heure (1960) and La Libre Belgique. He became Peyo's assistant, then Greg's. From 1962 onwards, he contributed to Journal de Spirou, initially producing mini-stories. He created Petitbois in Les Pieds Nickelés, Mr Bulle in Record (1963), Jett Parther in Pilote (1964), Pat Cadwell, Mr Bouchu, Katty in J2 Jeunes and J2 magazine (1965), Lahuri in Journal de Tintin (1966). He took over Jacky et Célestin in Le Soir Illustré in 1967. For Journal de Spirou, he created the Marc Lebut et son voisin (la Ford T) series in 1966, based on a script by Maurice Tillieux. He then created Clap, l'homme du château (in mini-stories), Capitaine Lahuche (scenario by Mittéï) and finally Soldats de Plomb. In 1986, he published an album by Marc Lebut with Récréabull.
