Dupa/Original humoristic drawing that hasn't aged a day. Published in the album "Drôle de crise" in 1982. India ink signed. TBE+. Format A4 In 1963, at Maurice Tillieux's instigation, Dupa enrolled at the Brussels Academy of Fine Arts. On graduating, he met Greg, then editor-in-chief of the "Tintin" magazine, and became his assistant. As a set designer, he worked on series such as "Fifi", "Fleurette", "Luc Junior", "Zig et Puce" and "Achille Talon". In 1968, Greg asked Dupa to create a character because he needed a page of gags to complete an issue of the weekly. Dupa drew a big ball of white fur with legs, and gave this "animal" a debonair air. And so, pure product of Dupa's delirious imagination, the big dog Cubitus made his debut in the Journal "Tintin" on April 16, 1968. Initially masterless, he was adopted a year later by a certain Semaphore, an old retired wolf-of-the-sea...
