Luc Cromheecke (1961) is a Belgian comic strip artist. In the early '80s, Luc Cromheecke and Laurent Letzer met at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, and gave up their serious studies, preferring to draw "silly stories"! Tom Carbone was published in "Spirou" from 1985 until the mid-90s. In 1996, Cromheecke and Letzer created Ben le Forestier for "Astrapi" magazine. With Willy Linthout, Luc Cromheecke designed Roboboy. In 2006, the secondary character Plunk, from a previous series, Taco Zip, was given his own comic strip. Since 2011, Cromheecke has been drawing and coloring the series L'Île carrément perdue, scripted by Sti, and appearing regularly in Le Journal de Spirou. In September 2012, a statue of Plunk! by Joris Peeters was erected on a lawn at Oude Heidestraat in Kapellen, as part of a cycling route dedicated to the comic strip. Also an illustrator for advertising and internal communications, he regularly draws illustrations promoting the subscription in Spirou with Jean-Michel Thiriet.
