Amédée de la PATELLIERE (1890 - 1932) "Temptation of Saint Anthony at the Barrel", circa 1928 Oil on panel, monogrammed lower right 27 x 35 cm. Bears on the back a label from the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nantes for an exhibition in 1980 - 1981 under number 39. Provenance: Paris, Libert-Castor sale, 12/10/2001, no. 79, Atelier d'Amédée de la Patellière sale La Tentation de St Antoine au tonneau is indeed from 1928. It was also exhibited at the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris during the 1945 retrospective (no. 56), at the Musée Rath in Geneva in 1953 (no. 62), at the Galerie Granoff in March 1962 (no. 24), at the Musée Galliera in 1973 (no. 62), and at the Musée Mainsieux in Voiron in 1996.
