French Art Deco work, 1930's - Important modernist band ring in 950 thousandth platinum with a central trapezoidal step set with an oval old-cut diamond in a closed setting, shouldered by curved stylized scrolls also set with falling old-cut diamonds. Partially visible hallmark of Atelier MAYNIER & PINCON. Weight of central diamond: approx. 1 carat. Finger size: 54. Width : 1.8cm. Gross weight: 16.9 g. (Small chips). The Atelier Maynier et Pinçon, active from the early 1920s to the mid-1950s, worked for many jewelry houses, including Boucheron, Linzeler et Marchak, Marzo and Jacques Lacloche. He was awarded a Grand Prix at the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in 1925 and at the Exposition Coloniale in 1931. Note that Pierre STERLE, nephew of Victor MAYNIER, trained in this workshop.
