CHINE
Large rectangular covered incense burner on four feet, painted on copper in Famille Rose enamels on a blue background, decorated in the archaic style with taotis and lotus flowers, framed by ruyis and Greek friezes. The openwork lid is surmounted by a seated Buddhist lion in gilded bronze, its front left paw resting on a ball. On the reverse, Qianlong mark with four characters in a square.
Qianlong period (1736-1795) (some old restorations).

This piece probably comes from the imperial workshops in Beijing.
