Description

Natasha De Locht. Original work in felt pen and gouache, exclusively in aid of the "Une tente une vie" operation, on cardboard. Signed. Wood frame with Plexiglas glass included: 155 x 125 cm Natacha (1969) is an author of children's books, both playful and educational, on topical subjects. She is the creator of the Clit'Collection, a collection of images, jewelry and accessories based on the clitoris, published by "Les NEZ à NEZ", and is also a visual artist. A Belgian national, she was born in Brussels and still lives there today. Following her studies in Plastic Arts at the ERG in Brussels, she worked in the fields of trompe l'oeil painting and patinas of all kinds. She loves working with materials. Around 2010, she perpetuates her passion for materials by photographing emulsions of products destined to be thrown away on various supports. In this way, she creates compositions from food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products and jar bottoms of all kinds taken from her everyday life. The meeting of different materials fascinates her. "At the beginning of 2022, a painting on an ORIG-AMI cardboard tent reminded me of my first love for patinas and acrylic paint. Paint blends beautifully with cardboard, revealing all its nobility. As a signature, I added a little clitoris using a stencil, because I claim to be a woman artist, and because in this field too, women have more difficulty emerging than men". From this came a whole family of clitorises in different positions, which I stenciled. I then started tagging the walls of Brussels with my clitorises, and that's when I felt a real sense of purpose in what I was doing. The ORIG-AMI is a cardboard shelter measuring 117 x 235 x 150 cm. It's insulating, structurally protective, folds like an accordion, can be carried like a backpack and is recyclable. The homeless shelter was designed on the principle of origami, a Japanese paper-folding technique.
