Description

Christian Jacquot. Original work in gouache and felt-tip pen exclusively in aid of the "Une tente une vie" operation, on cardboard. Signed. Wood frame with Plexiglas glass included: 155 x 125 cm Christian Jacot, a draughtsman from Brussels (1952), is an illustrator with several extremely precise and clear techniques. Like many of his comic-book-loving colleagues, he started drawing when he was very young, which earned him a few remarks from his teacher. He'd found his calling, and hasn't stopped since. He had the good fortune to collaborate with André Franquin on a very rare edition of Gaston Lagaffe, "Gaffes à SOLMER". He has worked with Peyo, Francis Bertrand, Luc Mazel, Christian Denayer and Daniel Kox, as well as with Franz on the San Antonio comics and many other artists. In the 70s, he was a member of the "Pilote" magazine team in Belgium, working with Jean Graton (Michel Vaillant) on cars and sets. He was an extremely precise draftsman, but also a talented painter. He has become a master in the art of caricature and humorous scenes; but also very serious, pastiches on the themes of comics, cinema, cult series, historical facts, cars and so on. He spent 25 years in advertising, producing an impressive number of illustrations, designing stamps for the Belgian post office and illustrating children's books. More recently, he met Marc Lequim, a passionate collector who gave his career a real 3rd wind, and with whom he has now been collaborating for several years. This meeting gave rise to numerous projects, drawings, gags, parodies, various exhibitions, original personalized illustrations, thematic series and internet visibility. The ORIG-AMI is a cardboard shelter measuring 117 x 235 x 150 cm. It is insulating, structurally protective, foldable like an accordion, transportable like a backpack and recyclable. The homeless shelter was designed on the principle of origami, a Japanese paper-folding technique.
