Original provenance: Governorate of Rome Skilful 1970s restoration Jealously preserved Registered with papers The GT16 first appeared in 1931, a marriage of frame and engine, with side overhead valves derived from the Sport 15 model, and the GT's rear suspension. More modern in appearance due to its saddle tank, the bike had a much simpler rear frame, with a single upper swinging arm on either side of the rear wheel. The oil tank also had the triangular shape derived from the Sport 15. Just over seven hundred were produced and sold between 1931 and 1934. The model offered at auction is the result of a skillful and careful restoration in the 1970s, achieved by combining parts from a GT16 for the frame and a GTS for the engine, whose provenances were traced in the Moto Guzzi Archives MOTO GUZZI GT16 500, 1933 Chassis: 1303 Odometer reading: 18937 Originally from the Governorate of Rome Expert restoration from the 70s Jealously preserved Registered with documents The GT 16 first appeared in 1931, a combination of chassis and engine, with overhead side valves, deriving from the Sport 15 model, and the rear suspension of the GT.
