Attributed to Pierre GOBERT (1662-1744) Portrait of Élisabeth-Charlotte d'Orléans, Duchess of Lorraine Canvas (Old restorations.) Height : 80 cm ; Width : 64 cm Louis XIV period gilded wood frame (accidents and restorations) Élisabeth-Charlotte d'Orléans, granddaughter of France, known as Mademoiselle de Chartres, then Mademoiselle as the eldest granddaughter of King Louis XIII, was the daughter of Monsieur, brother of Louis XIV, and the Princess Palatine. In 1698, she married Leopold I, Duke of Lorraine and Bar. From 1729 to 1737, she was regent of the duchies, and was granted the principality of Commercy for life. In our portrait, she is wearing a blue coat, lined with ermine and embroidered with fleurs-de-lis and the cross of Lorraine.
