Description
Rare Regency console in carved oak, curved belt with crossbow front, adorned with a feathered female mask around foliage scrolls, trellis reserve. Resting on two strong inverted "C" scrolled jambs, carved at the top with a bearded satyr mask, with shells rising up, on a foliage and fleurons fall, supporting winged chimeras inside, the lower arch with foliage scrolling, gadroons and foliage rising up, finished with an open-mouthed dolphin head, on small snail scrolled feet. Regency period, Parisian work. Red veined marble top. H. 92.5 - W. 118 cm - D. 54 cm Accents, restorations, formerly gilded.
