Living room set in cream and gilded relacquered wood, comprising a two-seater bench and a pair of flat-back armchairs, each carved with stylized palmettes, twigs and rosettes. Front legs tapered and ringed, rear legs sabers. The armchairs are stamped P. MARCION. Empire period. (Wear). Mustard silk velvet upholstery. Armchair dimensions : 92 x 61 x 57 cm Bench dimensions : 98 x 120 x 72 cm Pierre-Benoît Marcion (1769-1840). This set bears some similarities to the salon delivered by Marcion to Fontainebleau for the Salon d'Abdication. The front legs are barrel-shaped and crowned with palmettes, while the armrests are finished with striated scrolls and friezes of rosettes and palmettes.
