MOREAU Gustave (1826-1898) King David Gouache and gold highlights Signed and dedicated lower right to Charles Gavard "Affectueux souvenir Gustave". Height 37.5 ; width 22.3 cm Provenance: Charles Gavard Collection - Charles Gavard (1794-1871) collection, friend of Gustave Moreau. The work then belonged to Charles Gavard's daughter, a musician and piano teacher, who gave it to her pupil Madame de Piedoue d'Heritot, née Fouchy, and then passed it on to the current owners through descent.
