Description

DAVID BRUSH (Madrid). "Crazy Blue", 2022. Oil on canvas. Signed, dated and titled on the back. Size: 130 x 97 cm. A work of an abstract and neo expressionist character, in which the artist presents a canvas whose image is vibrant and dynamic, achieving great expressiveness through the pictorial composition. It is a representation in which the use of the textures generated by the materials has a great presence that harmonises with the great intensity of the colour used. Thus creating a pictorial atmosphere that appeals to the viewer and creates a binding emotional narrative. Self-taught, Davis Brush started in the art world through the inspiration of his daughter. His work is heavily influenced by artists such as Jackson Pollock (1912-1956), Karel Appel (1921-2006) and Willem de Kooning (1904 - 1997). He opened his first solo exhibition "Feria de Colores" in April 2018 in Boadilla del Monte, Madrid, which was followed by numerous exhibitions. An example of this is the solo exhibition in Cielo de Urrechu (Pozuelo de Alarcón) in September 2019. Collective exhibition at the Galería Santana Art gallery in which he exhibited his pieces alongside works by artists such as Francisco de Goya, Joaquin Sorolla, Wifredo Lam, Pedro Sandoval, Palomo Linares, Juan de Arevalos, Juan Genoves among others. He has also participated in La casa de la Cultura de Ugena (Toledo) in December 2019. He also has two individual exhibitions in Ópera gallery (Barcelona) and in Ceart Tomás y Valiente 2020-2021. In 2019 he was awarded the Revelation Prize, given by the Pro Art and Culture Group, Mayte Spínola, and his work can now be seen in national and international collections in countries such as Italy, Belgium, Holland and France, among others.
