CHAO CHENG HUANG (Taiwan, 1977) "The Brain, 2007. Oil on canvas. Signed and dated in the lower right corner. Measurements: 81 x 100 cm. A figurative artist with a realism in his technique that verges on photographic quality, Chao Cheng Huang's work manages to draw a portrait of profound intensity: the strength between the beauty and a certain restlessness that underlies the scene is striking. Throughout his career as an artist, Chao Cheng Huang has received numerous awards, including the IV Painting Prize Mainel Foundation (2011); First Prize in the II National Competition (2007); Painting First of Fariña, Selected in drawing in 11th International Biennial Print and Drawing Exhibition. Taiwan (2003); Second prize in Chinese painting at the National Taiwan University of Fine Arts (2000); Third prize in Chinese painting at the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall National Youth Chinese Painting Competition. Taiwan (1999); First prize for watercolour in the National Watercolour Competition at the Ching Shiun Hsieh Foundation. Taiwan (1997).
