Robert Hammerstiel likes to use the depiction of markets, cafes and stores to contrast his monumental painting style with small-scale objects, which he has done perfectly here. The rosewater store is also a reminiscence of a lost time, which the artist likes to resurrect and immerse in an oriental color scheme.
