Bramer, Josef
Head tree - tree head, 1997
Oil on canvas
Monogrammed, dated and titled lower right
100 x 100 cm
framed
Undoubtedly a major work of the Lower Austrian artist, which captivates with a strict composition and reduced color. As is often the case in Bramer's work, the focus of the depiction is Kaspar, who holds up a mirror to the viewer and shows a stylized self-portrait. In a pop and original way, the artist locates himself as a symbiosis of tree and man - here succeeds the representation of an emblematic icon.
On the artist's homepage you can see the representational work on the easel in the studio.
