The display of elaborate jewelry is of critical importance, especially in funeral ceremonies, to emphasize the status and wealth of the upper classes. An example can be found in the Dallas Museum of Art (1988.55) and a pair published in Carpenter, Ethnic Jewellery of Indonesia, 2011, p. 186 and 186, both which share similar chased designs in the gold panel sides.
