FRANK SCHEIDECKER (1872-1915) Carpes Koï & Glycines, unique piece, our entry in the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, Paris, 1902 Exceptional showcase-size indoor greenhouse. The frame in ribbed, molded, sculpted and stained plane wood with curvilinear and interlacing motifs. The upper part is glazed on all sides, with each panel featuring wisteria motifs in cut brass. The base, resting on four feet with plant-like endings, accommodates a spacer for a large oval tray decorated with Koi carp among aquatic vegetation in cut-out and reperforated brass plate. Used condition, minor restorations and scattered accidents, missing scrolls at the top of each arcature.
