Description
Kirman carpet, late 19th century (Persia). Decorated with palmettes and large foliage scrolls on a light green background, border decorated with repetitive cartouches, inscription woven in Farsi: "commissioned by Fayazov" (presumably a Persian name russified during travels). W: 5.70 - H: 4.36 m (note a deformation of the carpet of 45 cm, i.e. one side 4.81 m) Good overall condition, but many signs of wear, selvages and bangs to be reviewed.
