It had been some time since Jean-Michel Charlier and Jean Giraud had left Editions Dargaud to join the Super-As adventure, a magazine published by Koralle, a subsidiary of the German Axel Springer group, the first and only attempt to create a European comics magazine appearing in five languages. It was the first and only attempt to create a European comics magazine in five languages. The affair didn't last long, but allowed the two authors to take their heroes on the road to rehabilitation and their own freedom: it's in this episode that Blueberry convinces President Grant that he wasn't behind the plot against him. Gir is imperial and incredibly generous in his treatment of detail.
