A beautiful flintlock gun by Manceaux dating: Second quarter of the 19th Century provenance: Paris, Smoothbore, round, 18 mm cal. barrel with octagonal base, gold-inlaid with floral motifs; engraved tang; fine flintlock with the gilded signature 'MANCEAUX A PARIS', gold-plated vent; briar-root, full stock, gilt silver mounts, embossed with vegetable motifs on granulated background. Iron ramrod. Jules Manceaux, documented in Tulle, Corrèze and Paris from 1838 to 1872. From 1838 to 1845 he was director of the manufactory in Tulle. length 161 cm.
