First edition of this rich ethnographic documentation. Each volume, richly illustrated with numerous in- and out-of-text illustrations is dedicated to a specific region: Australia, Oceania and Asia (volume I); Asia and East Africa (volume II); Africa, America and Europe (volume III). The third volume contains the general index of the series. The series was later completed with a volume devoted to German customs, not present here.
