First edition. Pierre Bouguer (1698-1758), member of the scientific expedition with Charles Marie de La Condamine and Louis Godin, sent in 1735 by the Academy of Sciences to Peru to determine the exact shape and size of the earth. Copy complete of its 9 engraved plates with a large panoramic view of the profile of Peru and the map of the triangles of the meridian of Quito. A very good copy, spine and corners skilfully restored; trace of gummed stamp on the title.
