Description
Important ring, the yellow gold frame decorated with the shoulders of two caprid heads in high relief, with curved horns and rings. Rich ornamentation of gold beads decorated with nets and geometric patterns on the whole setting. The top of the ring is adorned with an oval lapis lazuli intaglio depicting a bearded prince or dignitary in bust, wearing a large earring and looking to the right. An inscription in Pahlavi on the upper part of the intaglio. Parthe art, 3rd - 2nd century B.C. for the mounting and for the intaglio. Red oxidations on the gold. Small wear and deformations otherwise very good conservation. Provenance : Private collection in Paris.
