BEAUTIFUL PRESENT COPY IN BLUE MOROCCO WITH THE ROYAL ARMS
In-4 (203 x 122 mm). With the introductory leaflet: "First proof of a new press invented for the service of the Royal Printing Office; and approved by the Academy of Sciences on May 17, 1783".
ISSUE : one of the very rare copies printed on strong wove paper and bound in morocco with the royal coat of arms, which François Ambroise Didot (1730-1804) had just started to manufacture in France, in Annonay

The invention of this new press was due as much to Étienne Anisson-Duperron (1749-1794) as to Didot. A controversy followed.
