CHARLES TOPINO (1742-1803), TABLE CHIFFONNIÈRE, STAMPED C.TOPINO WITH SWEARING MARK, LOUIS XV PERIOD made of veneer and green stained wood inlaid with furniture objects and attributes of music in framing nets, some of them with Greek style. It opens to a drawer in belt presenting an inkwell and an hourglass. Feet in sheath with hoofs with casters joined by a shelf of spacer. The tray and the shelf are decorated with an open gallery. (Restoration of use, insulated) A Louis XV period chiffonière table by Charles Topino, stamped 76 x 46 x 32,05 CM - 29,9 x 18,1 x 12,6 IN. - - Charles Topino was received as master on July 4, 1773. In 1782, he is called to the charge of the jury of the carpenters and cabinetmakers. Topino's clients included many mercantile merchants, fellow cabinetmakers and high ranking people of the time. Our Happiness, one of the cabinetmaker's favorite pieces of furniture, has a very personal landscape marquetry, typical of Charles Topino's production. His clientele included members of the nobility as well as colleagues, in particular Migeon, Boudin, Delorme, Héricourt, Tuart. Several of his works are in French museums, particularly in Paris, such as the Cognacq-Jay and Nissim de Camondo museums and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs.
