A LARGE BRONZE SEATED FIGURE OF SHAKYAMUNI China, Ming Dynasty Bronze. H. 37 cm. Shakyamuni is seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base, with the right hand in bhumisparsha mudra and the left hand in dhyana mudra. The figure is dressed in robe with finely chased floral patterns along the hems. With traces of age and gilding, partially damaged. Comparable to a seated figure of Tathagata-Buddha (ID36818) in the collection of the Museum of Asian Art in Berlin and a seated figure of Medicine Buddha (Lot 637) sold at Christie's New York in March 2018, both are slightly smaller in size than this lot. als dieses Los. Die Figur ist in eine Robe mit fein geschnitzten Blumenmustern entlang der Säume gekleidet. Part. besch., mit Alters- und Vergoldungsspuren. Vergleichbar mit einer sitzenden Figur von Tathagata-Buddha (ID36818) in der Sammlung des Museums für Asiatische Kunst in Berlin und einer sitzenden Figur von Medizinbuddha (Lot 637), die im März 2018 bei Christie's New York verkauft wurde.
