Henry DASSON Rare small cabinet or jewel box decorated with panels in Japanese lacquer hira maki-e and taka maki-e decorated with gold and silver on black background of mountain landscapes and pagodas, with birds in flight. It opens thanks to a pusher hidden by two leaves discovering seven small drawers and a small door in the center. The upper part also concealed presents a secret compartment a secret compartment covered with fabric, the flap forming a desk. Each corner has a fluted column with a composite capital. The tapered and fluted legs are joined by a strut topped by dolphins entwined. Signed on the moulding HENRI DASSON 1879. Period second half of the 19th century. 112 x 59 x 39 cm. (A small piece of lacquer detached). It does not seem that Dasson designed another jewel-band of this of this model because despite our research, we have not found any other other identical examples of this small piece of furniture and refined piece of furniture.
