BARBARA PFLAUM (1912-2002) Visitor in front of a sculpture by Fritz Wotruba, Vienna 1963 Image Size: 27 x 22,5 cm Vintage silver print on single-weight glossy paper, in good condition. Photographer's copyright stamp with address "Wien I. Mahlerstrasse 3", her handwritten and signed annotation "die lebende Figur ist der totale Beweis der Richtigkeit dieser Plastik. War sehr stolz, diesen Bruchteil einer Sekunde erfaßt zu haben!", and the sculptor's life dates "23.4.1907-28.8.1975" in pencil on the reverse. LITERATURE Barbara Pflaum, cat. A Japanese visitor in Vienna's Museum of the 20th Century passes a life-size sculpture by Fritz Wotruba representing a man walking: the constellation of perfectly opposite directions of movement encourages comparison and thus close observation. The photographer noted on the reverse of the print: "The living figure is a total proof of the rightness of this sculpture. I was very proud to have captured that split second!
