IRAN, QAJAR. Set comprising a kulah-khud helmet, a bazuband armband and a sipar rondache made of steel with engraved and inlaid gold and silver engraved and inlaid with gold and silver decoration of turbaned characters, animals such as hares and birds, vegetal motifs and some objects such as vases. Medallions and cartouches with inscriptions in Persian nasta'liq complete the decoration of the helmet and the rondache. The domed helmet is surmounted by a four-sided point, with two plume holders in front framing a mobile nasal with flowered ends, its base underlined by a camail of fine mesh. The circular roundel with four domed bosses emerging from the engraved decoration, the reverse side trimmed with a red textile and four rings for fixing the gripping straps (missing). The naviform armband flanked by small leather loops (missing) and bordered on one side by two plates connected by mesh. Trimmed on the back with a red textile and light leather loops. 19th century.
