One volume. 18 by 26.5 cm. (4)-124 pages. Full contemporary green chagrin, 5-ribbed spine, triple cold-framed boards, wide and rich inner lace. Slight discoloration at one corner, not serious, the only flaw to be noted. Very slight wetness in the upper margin, otherwise perfect condition of the text. Printed on Hollande. Accompanied by an autograph letter from Auguste Casimir Périer, dated May 28, 1873, indicating that he will supply all the documents required for this book to the Chaix printing house. Son of Casimir Périer, Auguste Casimir Périer was a politician who twice served as Minister of the Interior between 1871 and 1873, and as Deputy and then Senator between 1871 and 1876. He was an ardent defender and organizer of the Republic, which was established in 1875. The French people were grateful for his work, and the book begins with a page of tribute dedicated to him by Chaix's employees and workers.
