Full midnight blue morocco, with mosaic color leaf decoration, original watercolor inlaid in the plate, smooth spine, full morocco interior with framing, and mosaic color leaves, suede title page, with green morocco leaf decoration. Covers and spine preserved. Binding signed MONDRAC, in very good condition. Original watercolor on cover with slightly worn edges. One of 30 copies on Japon impérial (4) of the first edition, with four states of the illustrations: a suite in color of the headbands and tailpieces in the text, a suite in color, a suite in black, a suite in blue, with an original watercolor by FRED-MONEY, the one bound in the 1st plate. A small marginal stain on the bottom of one leaf of the suite, the only defect noted. A rare copy in an exceptional binding of this classic of Bresse poetry.
