In this sale, we are dispersing an important collection of newspapers published during the Paris Commune. During the Commune, there were a large number of more or less short-lived publications. They could be banned, but were immediately reborn under a new name, as the Commune was committed to freedom of expression. Many of these newspapers bear the dates of the Gregorian and revolutionary calendars. This collection has never been bound. The newspapers sometimes have frayed edges, a few stains, sometimes gray paper, and cuts at the folds. More serious defects are mentioned.
