Description
Very rare panel for the dress, needlepoint, Italy, 4th quarter of the 17th century. Superb panel of a dress front in needle lace of extreme finesse of realization, with a well constructed decoration of small motifs in vertical composition and mirror bouquets of flowers, vases and baskets, from which rise flexible stems and fine branches with multiple flowers adorned with very fine embroidery of great delicacy and relief, the motifs connected by fine picoté bridles. In linen of a beautiful fineness color light ivory, the three sides finished by a fine serrated border with flowers decorated in the same way. Dim. 1,48 m x 28 cm (good condition, some very discreet restorations)
