Gustave TIFFOCHE (1930-2011), Glazed and speckled stoneware bowl, the body slightly grooved, the heel left bare, 1960's, signed under the base - H. 7 cm D. 13,5 cm (small firing accident inside) / BIOGRAPHY : French ceramist, Tiffoche's first contact with ceramics took place in 1961, at the castle of Ratilly, where he did an internship with the Pierlot couple. He chose the right moment because that summer the greatest ones exhibited there (Leach, Hamada, Jouve, Mohy, de Vinck, etc.). The event was a landmark and Tiffoche remained linked with several of them for the rest of his life. Two years later, after devouring a great deal of technical documentation, Gustave Tiffoche set up his workshop in Guérande, equipped with a wood-fired kiln and then completed with a second gas-fired kiln.
