This sculpture is inspired by the classical theme of the venus pudicus, but the model is a young woman devoid of all timeless and allegorical varnish. On the contrary, the flirtatious gesture of covering her nudity is that of an adolescent girl. The sculptor has succeeded in conveying the immediacy of the gesture through his carving, while at the same time capturing the carnal freshness of the body with just the right qualities.
