Description

NAPOLÉON Ier (1769-1821).

L.S. "NP" to Monsieur le Baron de La Bouillerie, St Cloud, 2 May 1812. 2 pp. in-4. Paper with gilt edges. Handwritten annotation at the top of the page by the Baron de la Bouillerie (?). Interesting letter on finances "I approve that the interests of the 10,800,000 francs that were paid to the Domaine Extraordinaire be carried over to the said Domaine [...] The private Domaine needs a budget but the value confused with the reserve portfolio as a consequence [...] belong to the reserve portfolio, without distinction of the private Domaine. [...]" he then evokes two other distinct funds, he continues "It is good not to include in the Treasury & reserve portfolio the 300,000 francs [...] which are intended to settle the land of Galliera. This will reduce the 113,266,000 francs by 300,000 francs. [...]" he evokes finally the fund of the canals and announces "When this business will be finished, one will be able to refund this fund [...]". This letter does not appear in Napoleon's correspondence.
