L.A.S. to "My cousin the duke of Sully", Fontainebleau 15 May (1609), ½ p. in-4. Address, document strengthened and having been mounted on tab. Interesting letter written after the last conspiracy of the Count of Auvergne [Charles de Valois-Angoulême]. Henri IV authorizes the visit of Honoré d'Urfé, baron of Châteaumorand "for one foys and no more" to visit the count of Auvergne in the Bastille where he is imprisoned. "my friend, the count dauvergne made me beg him to allow me to see the sr de chateaumorant to speak to him about certain matters and this for one time, which I allowed him to do, which is why I am sending you this note to warn you so that you allow the sr de chateaumorant to see him for one time and no longer.
