Description

CITROEN 2CV6 CHARLESTON 1982 Serial number: VF7AZKA0078KA9080 Registration number: 279 ABC 78 First registration: 16/03/1982 Mileage (not guaranteed): 32.571 km Vehicle in used condition requiring repairs. Type AZKA: 2CV6 Charleston "Yellow Helios / Black" (AC 336) Engine 602cm3 M28-1, AK2 N*0506029966 (Not matching) With its current owner for over 20 years Normal car registration Recent hood PRESENTATION In the middle of the thirties, under the impulse of Pierre MICHELIN, then owner of CITROEN, the project of the TPV (Toute Petite Voiture) was launched. Pierre Boulanger set out his famous specifications as follows: "Have your departments study a car that can transport two farmers in clogs, fifty kilos of potatoes or a barrel at a maximum speed of 60 km/h with a consumption of three liters of petrol per hundred. Moreover, this vehicle must be able to pass through the worst roads, it must be light enough to be handled without any problem by a beginner driver. Its comfort must be irreproachable because the baskets of eggs carried in the back must arrive intact. With the outbreak of the Second World War, the presentation of the TPV project planned for the 1939 Paris Motor Show was abandoned and the prototypes were destroyed. With the end of the war, the study was taken up by Flaminio Bertoni, who gave birth to the Citroën 2CV, presented to the public at the Paris Motor Show in 1948. An innovative mobility solution, the 2CV became increasingly successful as it evolved. However, at the beginning of the 1980s, the "deuche", which had been able to go through all the fashions and eras, saw its production decrease. From October 1980, to boost sales, Citroën markets a special series of eight thousand 2CV6 CHARLESTON. For the car which was then entering its fourth decade of production, the name CHARLESTON was a nod to the Roaring Twenties. Serge Gevin gives it a new two-tone red and black dress, with gray adhesive decorations, according to a rounded cut. The enthusiasm and success of this 2CV, which appeals to a younger clientele, convinces Citroën to produce the CHARLESTON in series. It appears in the 1982 catalog with two new colors in addition to the "rouge delage/black": "gris cormoran/gris nocturne" and "jaune Helios/noir". If the CHARLESTON range accompanies the 2CV until the last model produced in 1990, the "yellow Helios/black" is a commercial failure with a presence of only one year in the catalog. The Gallery of Chartres is happy to propose you this Citroën 2CV6 CHARLESTON put in circulation on March 16, 1982. For more than 20 years with its current owner, this 2CV starts at the quarter turn and presents a recent hood. The mileage shows 32,571km and this Charleston probably has several laps on the odometer, with an authentic general condition that shows the signs of time and traces of use. If the chassis seems to be sound, the floors need to be redone to fully enjoy this symbol of the French automobile. Beautiful examples of 2CV are nowadays disputed by collectors. This one represents a rare opportunity to acquire a Helios yellow/black CHARLESTON, today the most sought after and one of the rarest colors. Sold with a technical control of 60 € TTC at the expense of the buyer. Estimate: 4.000-5.000 euros GENERAL CONDITIONS OF SALE: The public auction will take place by appointment on Monday, March 27, 2023 from 2:00 pm, at the Galerie de Chartres at 7 bis rue Collin d'Harleville 28000 CHARTRES.
