Game table called "sorting" or "hombre" in walnut molded style Louis XV, 19th century. The belt is molded and rests on cambered legs. H. 68, L. 72 cm The game of Hombre, of Spanish origin, was mainly played in France during the second half of the 17th and the beginning of the 18th century. It is probably the first known auction game in the history of card games, and a distant precursor of bridge.
